Summertime brings sun filled days and temperatures ranging from 80-90 in the day and 50-60 at night. At such a high altitude, Sunny days are warm and invigorating. The occasional raining day brings welcome moisture.
Spring and Fall and usually very mild and pleasant with temperatures between 50-60 during the day. In the Spring, wildflowers begin to bloom and cover the mountainsides with pastel color. Fall brings a brilliant palette of its own with orange and red hues painting groves of aspen trees.
Winter brings a winter wonderland with temperatures that dip below zero and sunny days that are in the high 40's. South Fork and Wolf Creek Pass accumulate legendary snowfall each year, with South Fork receiving about 200 inches annually and Wolf Creek Pass averaging over 450 inches per year. |
